Home Safe Program

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought financial hardships to many, including our adult communities. The Adult Protective Services (APS) Home Safe Program provides clients who are at risk of becoming homeless with homelessness prevention services necessary to maintain their current housing or with assistance in finding new housing to avoid becoming homeless and entering the homeless emergency shelter system.

The Home Safe Program includes short-term prevention services such as:

  • Housing stabilization,

  • Housing search & placement,

  • Income stabilization,

  • Landlord mediation & advocacy, legal advocacy, and

  • Reunification/relocation assistance.

When appropriate, financial assistance may include security deposit, rental assistance, utilities assistance, move-in expenses, essential furnishing expenses, or reunification/relocation expenses among other services. For information contact APShomesafe@wdacs.lacounty.gov or visit wdacs.lacounty.gov/homeless-support-services.
